Travelling
workshops
As mentioned in my "Message", summer marks the beginning of my
traveling workshops and speaking engagements. As in the past, distance
will not be a determining factor for learning and taking workshops
ranging from; marbling, dyeing fabrics for quilting, silk painting
and silk screening. Currently my schedule is open and can easily
accommodate groups of 6 or more. If you have any questions about
these programs please do not hesitate to contact me.
At the time of printing, IÕll definitely be in Calgary for the
Creative Stitches and Crafting...Alive! conference between October
15th - 17th. Even if youÕre unable to gather a group, you can attend
the show where I will be teaching silk painting, marbling, dyeing
fabrics for quilting and microwave scarf dyeing.
I am also very excited about my tentatively planned trip to Nova
Scotia/Maritimes around the 23rd Any of the days can still be tacked
on before or after so please contact me as soon as possible so that
IÕll be able to accommodate before purchasing airline tickets.

Raycafix
To clarify a product confusion, Raycafix replaced our Retayne
last year. By supporting a Canadian firm, we not only were
able to find a local source but found a product to be even
better than Retayne.
For those who forget, the main purpose of Raycafix is to
aid in the setting of dyes. Poorly set dyes tend to have excessive
bleeding or washout. Using Raycafix eliminates this problem
if used during the finishing rinse. It works officially with
Procion H & MX dyes but with trial and error, Dekka, Dylon,
Pebeo Soie and many other "unknown" dyes are aided.

Word
As many of my readers have noticed, this edition
is quite late this time. I apologize for this. We've been quite
busy and finding time for G&S NEWS has become more and more difficult.
IÕve also noticed that finding fresh topics difficult at times.
The dreaded Ōblank screenĶ. Any story ideas or even contributing
articles are always welcome and appreciated.
Next edition will be in November (holiday sales
and workshop schedule).
